Program Description

The UIUX Developer Analyst (Practicum Program) will equip you with the skills needed to enter a range of different roles including: Software Testing Engineer, Application Architect, Computer Software Engineer, Software Technical Architect and Software System Integration Engineer. For individuals wanting to start their careers as a developer, this program is ideal. Not only will you gain the skills needed to tackle some of the most complex challenges in the industry, but through practical work experience you will discover which roles are best suited to your abilities.

By studying this program, you will develop your capabilities as a UIUX developer analyst enabling you to enter a range of different roles in the IT sector.

Upon successful completion of the UIUX Developer Analyst program, you’ll be equipped to pursue some of the following roles:

  • Usability Specialist: A Usability Specialist, also called a Usability Analyst or UX researcher, verifies that products meet the usability and user needs requirements. They also ensure that products are enjoyable to consumers.

  • UI Designer: UI designing is the process of making the website appearance and interface usable and enjoyable for potential customers. Designers focus on building websites that are efficient and effortless for the end-users.

  • UX Analyst: These analysts research the user’s requirements for a given website or software application.

  • Business Analyst: Business Analysts (BAs) bridge the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to evaluate processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

  • UI/UX Developer: These developers are responsible for both designing and developing an enjoyable user experience on a website.

  • Front-End Developer: Through the combination of design, technology, and programming, a Front-End Developer codes a website’s appearance and ensures that website visitors can easily interact with the page. They are also responsible for the translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code.

  • Business Systems Analyst: A Business Systems Analyst determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. They also design new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; and writing specifications.

The average UX Developer salary in Canada is $75,000 per year or $38.46 per hour.

Entry level positions start at $50,700 per year while most experienced workers make up to $137,900 per year.

Admission Requirements

Have a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent or be at least 19 years of age

Students are required to bring their own computers to class

English Language Requirements

Applicant must attain one of the following English language requirements:

  • Successful completion of CCTB EAP Level 4

  • Have the required IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent

  • Pass the CCTB English Assessment (written onsite or online with exam proctor)

How can I avail Financial Aid at CCTB?
